On Friday last the parents of Thornleigh Educate Together got together to cook and deliver tasty soup to all the children and staff of Thornleigh ETNS. During the week the children, teachers, David and parents could be spotted down in our school garden busy harvesting the vegetables they had planted to make the soup. Then onions were peeled and chopped, carrots scraped, potatoes scrubbed and cleaned all in a joint effort to create the gorgeous soup.
The aroma of cooking around the school was gorgeous and excellent to see all the parents working and chatting happily together making the soup. They then delivered it on a trolley with garnish to the Junior/Senior infants. The older classes came down to the parents room and went into the garden, in the beautiful sunshine, to enjoy the tasty healthy treat.
It is fantastic to see such team spirit and communication with all of the community of Thornleigh. Well done and a heartfelt thank you to you all.
